Admirals Club for some snacks! |
Our flight to Heathrow was as 4:20 p.m., so we were running and gunning all day while at home in Texas. We did get to DFW airport on time, but the wheels on my suitcase broke—did not realize it until we got to the airport. That has never happened to me before, but it was terrible timing—I felt like I was pulling a sled!
Our credit card (AAdvantage Platinum Executive) not only helped us accrue the miles to book the flight for free (plus tax), it also got us free checked bags, priority boarding and access to the Admirals Club. I love going into the Admirals Club at the airports where it’s available because they have heavy appetizers, good coffee, clean bathrooms and cucumber water to refill our water bottles with. If I have time (not this trip), they also have free wine and beer.
Next we got on our plane for the overnight flight. The kids were so excited!
I decided to pay for internet on the plane for work. This was my first time to do it, and with American Airlines, it was so slow! But it was helpful to some degree.

My sad broken suitcase :-( |
The last time we went abroad, Felicity was six months old, and Wilder was 2.5. I held Felicity in my arms almost the whole flight. This trip, she fell asleep on my arm, so it was basically the same thing. :-)
We didn’t sleep much, but had no issues on the flight otherwise.
